
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19th, 2008) was an American film, theatre TV, and voice actress. Pleshette began her career in theatre, and she appeared in films in the late 1950s. She was later featured in a number of notable films, including Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). In later years, she was a part of numerous television shows and was often an actor in guest roles. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978 and received a number of Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette is the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of the couple were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer and choreographer who was stage-named Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage manager of the Paramount Theater in Manhattan and also of the Paramount Theater in Brooklyn,
